I was very troubled when I heard that some translators (Wycliffe Bible Translators) are trying to revise God's word by permitting a substitute for Jesus, the Son of God. I remember the first thing went through my mind was that; then how they are going to explain the triune God-head (the trinity) as the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit to the non-believers or new believers in Christ?
I was born in the Middle East, but was not practicing any faith dutifully nor did I care about any religions. All I knew in my heart that God existed (although I denied Him publicly). One day according to the sovereignty of God I heard the truth and the good news about Jesus Christ who was born of the virgin when the Holy Spirit of God came upon her, and the power of the Most High overshadowed her. Mary was told by Gabriel that to be born will be called holy—the Son of God. (Luke 1:27-35)
On Mothers’ Day 1997 I repented of my sins and put all my trust in God’s only Son who laid down His life for those who believe in His name. I realized that up to that moment I was an enemy of God, but now God has reconciled me to Himself by death of His Son, much more, I was saved from eternal hell by His Son’s life. All because I heard the truth about the unconditional grace that comes only through Jesus the son of God.
That was just the beginning! The Lord Jesus gave me the desire to know Him more by studying His written Word. I began to attend Bible studies including eight years of Bible Study Fellowship. Then I attended a Bible college for four years still taking classes when I can afford it. I do all these not only for my own benefit, but to benefit others. My utmost desire is to make the Son of God known to all those who I come in contact with.
I plead with those of you who assume that are doing a great favor to our Lord and Savior by removing or replacing/substituting the truth about “The son of God,” not to go ahead with this act of heresy.
And I really believe that since you have a great responsibility to translate the truth of God’s Word, but instead you are altering it by adding erroneous words which are misleading, then you would go down in history parallel to the Gnostics, Pelagius, Arius, and other heretics during centuries past as false teachers of twenty-first century.
Muslims do not repent and do not come to faith in Jesus as their Lord and Savior by watering down God’s Word, or when we attempt to please them by changing God’s Word, but by the whole counsel of God, including the second person of the godhead.
